18 to 30 July 2008 - Nuits Musicales du Suquet
Founded by the world-famous pianist Gabriel Tacchino, the Nuits Musicales du Suquet is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The summer concerts have become the essential meeting place for music lovers, acknowledged as one of the major musical events of the season in Cannes.

10 July to 30 August 2008 - Palais Night Club
The Palais des Festivals is offering a unique site, Rotonde Lérins, a 2600 m2 space with an exceptional panorama of the bay of Cannes, the old port and the old town; le Suquet. The site becomes the biggest nightclub of the Côte d’Azur in summer.

July and August 2008 - Festival of Pyrotechnic Art
From the Esterel mountains to the Pointe Croisette, the bay of Cannes forms a jewel case for great events. Cannes wanted to organize for its citizens, as well as for tourists, an international valued event in the very heart of the summer season, where it could take advantage of both : its magnificent natural scenery and its prestige. These shows, given from a 300 meters seafront, in the splendid bay of Cannes, gave a surprising dimension to it. The reflection of the fireworks on the water and the acoustic relief, transported the public into a fairy tale world of successive frames. Around 200 000 persons follow the shows on every evening.

An ‘Electro’ Festival
Created in 2002, Cannes has developed a new Festival highlighting the international electronic scene. The City of Cannes set a new challenge by organizing this daring event oriented towards new musical trends.
In 2004, the Festival received over 2,000 spectators each night on the Riviera terrace at the Palais des Festivals. Although the Festival puts the spotlight on electro, it also delves into many other music varieties: afrobeat, afro-house, electro-dub, house, electro-pop, hip-hop, reggae, electro-jazz...

On the Festival Hall beach in August, several soirees are organized in the context of ‘Plages électroniques’ (Electronic beaches). The concept, inspired by ‘Les Pelouses électroniques’ in Paris, offers an original format: the evening begins on the beach at 7.30pm, the cocktail hour, to pursue the musical discovery with your feet in the sand until 12.30am! On the programme: breakbeat, minimalist / house / electro, trance/techno, jungle drum’n’bass, booty funk, hip-hop...
